Participatory Happenings by Maid Out Of Ice is a project initiated by Lin Ni’s doctoral research project titled Rehydrate, Re-Radio and Re-Decolonize: Filming and Bridging Beneath and Beyond the Surface of Water Between Arctic and Pacific, at The Falculty of Art and Design in University of Lapland, Finland, with scholarship provided by Skaftfell Art Center in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. Lin is abled to conduct slow travel through ferry connections between Finland and Iceland with Nordic Culture Point’s Mobility Funding, and conduct exhibition/workshop events. In collaboration with Seyðisfjörður Community Radio, LungA Radio School and Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) Network. The hydrofeminist situated, radio-based pilot program Maid Out Of Ice will explore water literacy and ways of re-inhabitation through sonic, meditative, performaces/workshops.
